Whether in the sping, summer, autumn or winter of your life you can learn how to allow the balance and harmony of universal energy to flow to yourself, other people, pets, farm animals, wildlife, and any life form once you have completed any level of Gendai Reiki-ho or Komyo Reiki. There is no difference between people Reiki and animal Reiki; we are all life forms made up of atoms/molecules to which Reiki flows to the core balancing and surrouding with harmony.
The spiritual practices of Gendai Reiki-ho and Komyo Reiki treats the whole person, with the focus being on well-being only. A line from the movie Patch Adams summarizes this, “You treat the disease you win or loose, you treat the whole person and you win no matter what the outcome.”
Not only do you find Homeostasis in all areas of your life, but Usui Reiki is complementary to all healing modalities. It takes time to learn to allow universal energy to flow through you in the best way, and Roberta Barnes allows time for you to complete each level, with multiple classes and multiple empowerments/attunements for each level.

It might seem redundant, but the style of Usui Reiki that Roberta Barnes teaches are commonly referred to as Japanese Reiki. The styles Gendai Reiki-ho and Komyo Reiki, were each created by a Japanese Reiki Shihan (teacher/master) with only 2 Shihans between himself and Mikao Usui the founder of Usui Reiki. Roberta completed her update teacher’s level for each style directly under the creator of each style, Hiroshi Doi-Sensei and Rev. Hyakuten Inamoto-Sensei. Natural Healing & Learning Center is certified by Gendai Reiki Kyokai; nestled in nature the Center reflects the gentle yet profound healing nature of Reiki.
Many styles have developed since Mikao Usui’s secret method for health and happiness began to spread around the world. Both Gendai Reiki-ho and Komyo Reiki are styles created in Japan that hold the essence of Mikao Usui's original teachings while blending with the way the world's culture has changed. An example of names changing is the society often simply called the Gakkai, originally being called Usui Shiki Ryoho Gakkai ( Berlage); within the walls of the Gakkai are things kept sacred and only shared with members of the Gakkai. This is one of the reasons I am so thankful that Hiroshi Doi-Sensei created Gendai Reiki-ho, and I was able to complete my updated Gendai Reiki-ho teacher's level with him. While Doi-Sensei does not share what goes on within the Gakkai the style he created, Gendai Reiki-Ho, was approved of by the elders within the Gakkai.
The spiritual practice of Usui Reiki Ryoho is a blissful journey and how far you travel is your choice, the universe allows free will. Each level is honorable and no level makes any person better or less, then another. First you want to be open to universal energy, then you learn, then you practice, and then you live the spiritual practice Mikao Usui founded.

There is no prerequisite for any level of Reiki Training when levels are taken consecutively, the same as the rungs on a ladder. For each level following Shoden a certificate(s) for the level(s) preceding must be shown if you studied with another qualified Reiki Shihan (teacher).

At Roberta Barnes' monthly gatherings those attending receive Gendai Reiju from her, and share universal energy through mawashi, verbal exchanges and some hands-on.

Roberta teaches both Gendai Reiki-ho and Komyo Reiki as they originated in Japan, and has not added in riotuals she has learned in other helaing and spiritual practices. However, verbally in class she can answer questions about practices common in Western styles of Reiki, because she also completed the Master/Teacher level in several Western styles before moving on to Japanese styles of Usui Reiki.
This level is a powerful beginning on your Usui Reiki Ryoho journey. This level is reflected in Roberta Barnes’ article “It may appear small, but it is powerful”.
The purposes of this level are to open your path to universal energy, personal growth, self-healing, and self-cleansing. When you heal yourself you help to heal all that is around you. If you are in balance and surrounded with harmony then all around you is touched in a positive way.
Reiki begins flowing as soon as a person's pathway/channel has been opened by what is commonly called an attunement, but that is only the beginning.
As per Japanese tradition, Roberta gives multiple empowerments to insure each person's channel is clear for this level. She also allows days in between each empowerment (attunement) so that your whole self can assimilate the peaceful revitalizing energy that is new to you. She explains how a person can taint the energy flowing through him or her, so that you will know how to keep your channel clear.
One of the focuses is developing Hibiki (feeling inharmonic vibrations) so that you will not be restricted by any set of hand positions. A set of standard hand positions is given in the manual for reference only. It is unknown where the idea of standard hand positions originated. Some surviving students of Usui-Sensei interviewed in the 1990's said Usui-Sensei did not use any "hand positions", and others said he had drawn a few possible hand positions for students to use until they learned Hibiki, etc.
$145.00 includes approximately twelve hours of instruction broken down into three to five classes, empowerments (attunements), Gendai Reiju, Gendai Reiki-ho Shoden manual, and certificate of completion.
This level takes you deeper inside, as you learn to bring all the energies best represented by all the connected with the earth, moon, and sun into your daily practice of Reiki. In Shoden you prepared for the higher vibrations that will now be part of your whole; the homeostasis of your whole changes to a higher vibration.
This level is often thought of as psychological and emotional healing. When Roberta wrote, “The past cannot be changed, but today can” her focus was on this level.
The purposes of this level are to improve the quality of one’s ability to allow Reiki to flow and transcend space and time. Byosen Reikan-ho and other such techniques are gone into in depth.
Reiki symbols and corresponding kotodamas are taught at this level to point to the additional cords you are now opened to within the vibrations of love and harmony. In Shoden, Roberta teaches how to go into the light and now that your channel is opened wider those exercise are reviewed, and the finger pointing/training wheels (Reiki symbols) are optional. It is obvious that universal energy cannot be strengthened, but as your pathway/channel opens wider allowing more cords of universal love and harmony to flow through you it feels much stronger. In this level those things that can cause either blocks in your channel or the pure energy flowing through to be tainted are reviewed.
Trying to direct the flow of Reiki causes inharmonic vibrations; in this level guidance is given on how to connect over distance and time without directing. This level is filled with smiles as you continue on your journey of personnel growth that can touch others.
$235.00 includes approximately twelve hours of instruction, empowerments (attunements), Reiju, Okuden or Chuden manual, and certificate of completion.
A certificate for completion of level one in some style of Usui Reiki Ryoho is required for this level. If you have completed Level One in another style of Usui Reiki material and time must be added, increasing the asking fee to $285.00.
This is the level of deep spiritual growth, which was once called the secret level. In this level, you go in very deeply as your pathway/channel is opened even wider. The symbol, commonly called master symbol, is taught in this level. Exercises and techniques are taught to allow you to expand your personal growth and to transcend the use of all symbols and all other training wheels/pointers that you may have gathered.
Advanced exercises include cleansing negative karma that may have become stuck within you are practiced in class. You are given guidelines to be one with the rhythm of the universe.
The goal is to connect with the higher consciousness in the highest dimension where anger and fretful worry do not exist. This level translates as secret, and in those early years when Usui Reiki was first developing it was very difficult for anyone to reach this level. The second level had no less then two sub-levels, which many found difficult to complete.
Doi-Sensei commented that more people today are able to connect to the highest dimensions then in prior times because at this time in history the need for many to do so is great. Doi-Sensei also said about the practice of Gendai Reiki-ho, “You come to know why you exist at this time and in this place, and your roll will be made clear”.
In this level you see clearly that Reiki is not a series of attunements, but a journey toward perpetually being filled with peace, tranquility and joy. If you have not already, you learn why even though Reiki is neither a religion nor belief system, it is a spiritual practice. Exercises are given to connect with the vibrations of those in the higher dimensions and your higher-self.
$300.00 includes approximately sixteen hours of instruction, empowerments (attunements), Gendai Reiju, level three manual, and certificate of completion.
Certificates for Level I and Level II are required before taking this level. If you have completed Level 1 & 2 in another style of Usui Reiki more instruction is given increasing the fee to $445.00.
The prerequisite for this level is either a certificate of completion of Shinpiden in Gendai Reiki-ho, Okuden in Komyo Reiki Kai, or a certificate of the level allowing one to teach another style honoring the traditions of Usui Reiki Ryoho.
There are two purposes for completing this level. The first purpose is to complete the circle allowing for continued personal growth.
The second purpose is wanting to be able to teach Gendai Reiki-ho as Hiroshi Doi created or Komyo Reiki Kai as Rev. Hyakuten Inamoto created, with no alterations. Both Gendai Reiki-ho and Komyo Reiki are spiritual practices as Mikao Usui intended.
Doi-Sensei said, “It is more proper to call it a training course for Reiki teachers than another step.” However, if you have not yet learned to transcend symbols and other such supports this level helps you to do so.
Your focus is that universal energy does not depend upon any such things as material objects, tones, colors, movements, or other training wheels/supports. From the Shoden level you have been guided to put your trust in Reiki and now you know in your heart its importance.
At this level you do not “do” Reiki, you have the goal of becoming Reiki for personal growth. There may be no recorded documents of anyone reaching the goal of becoming energy, but each step of the journey is blissful. Usui Mikao in his humbleness rated himself as a 2 rather then a one even though he was described as a furnace of energy because the universal energy combined with his own Ki that emanated from him was so strong.
$885.00 includes all classes, empowerments, Reiju, Reiki Shihan manual, and completion certificate. Certificate for Level I, Level II and Level III are required before taking this level.
For those having completed levels one, two, and three in styles honoring Usui Reiki Ryoho
other then Gendai Reiki-ho or Komyo Reiki the fee is $985.00.
This is Gendai Reiju and not the Reiju that the society Usui Reiki Ryoho Gakkai currently uses or has used in the past. Reiju used within the Gakkai is shared with members of the Gakkai only.
The prerequisite for this workshop is to have completed the highest level in Gendai Reiki-ho or Komyo Reiki, and spent time practicing. Reiju was the term used at one time as the way in which people were originally opened to the universal vibrations of love and harmony. It is still commonly used in Komyo Reiki Kai.
Gendai Reiju is not an attunement. It is a very strong and focused form of Reiki, which has varying uses depending upon the Reiki Shihan using it. No supports such as symbols or kotodamas are used. At gatherings it is customary for a Reiki Shihan to give Reiju to all those attending; this clears any blocks that may have formed in one's channel and is a wonderful rejuvenating energy flowing through the whole you. A person will never loose his or her connection to Reiki, but things such as the ego can form blocks that can either reduce the strength or taint the universal energy flowing through our pathway/channel.
Reiju is a technique of Usui Reiki Ryoho that has a unique history, which is shared at the workshop.
Young people easily open to Reiki, making everything they do in life easier. This level is tailored to the age of that child or group of children learning at that time. This style is based on Gendai Reiki-ho, Komyo Reiki Kai, Threshold Reiki, and other styles. Reiki cannot be directed and symbols have no power, so the open minds of children are sometimes more accepting of forms of universal energy, then adults.
A young person/child can easily learn Shoden, but in pre-Shoden the instruction time is reduced. The young person’s pathway is opened, but not all the exercises for self-growth, etc. are given. This is basic study which includes only one empowerment/attunement and only 4- 6 hours of instruction done in one class. When the person taking this level is ready to begin Shoden studies a reduction in the Shoden asking fee is offered.
$105.00 includes a minimum of 4 hours of instruction, one attunement, certificate,
and basic Reiki manual appropriate for certain age groups.

Meditation offers you the opportunity to gain perception and wisdom in the inner calm. Peace through Meditation is for people beginning meditation and those that have let their daily meditatoin slip. I also offered classes in outward meditation, sometimes referred to as channeling. In each class I give guided meditations that are right for the people in that class at that time. Create guided meditations very easily, and even sometimes offer them at my monthly Reiki share/gatherings. In the warmer months of the year Roberta holds one day nature workshops on how to raising awareness in life. These are called Connecting with Nature and are held in the area surrounding the Natural Healing Center, which is a wildlife habitat, certified by the National Wildlife Federation. |

Guided meditation journeys into your past take you into forgotten times in your current life or in past lives, depending upon your beliefs. These are useful healing tools in changing how you view the past in order to heal the present. These are also often done for self-discovery. When combined with a Reiki healing session the asking fee is $85.00. |

Herb consultation—consists of two appointments and a written report. These reports do not replace prescribed medications or licensed medical professionals. The report lists herbs that have helped others with the same challenges, and includes known herb contraindications and drug interactions. |
